Use an old toothbrush to scrub stains away.<\/li>\n<li>Remove laces, inserts, and any other removable parts before washing. If the laces are very dirty, throw them in with a regular load of clothes.<\/li>\n<li>Wash on delicate with a gentle detergent. Use cold water\u2014hot could melt the rubber and\/or adhesive in the shoes.<\/li>\n<li>Throw in a couple bath towels to balance the load.<\/li>\n<li>If the sneakers are white, add \u00bd cup vinegar or lemon juice in with the regular amount of detergent to help restore their brightness.
